About me

I live in the beautiful rural setting of Devon having relocated from London in 2010. I have been interpreting for over 25 years in a wide range of domains with special interest in mental health, social services and working with Deaf professionals. I have experience working for agencies in a management capacity, as a freelance interpreter and have also trained, assessed, and presented on interpreting. Currently my time is split as staff for a VRS company, freelance, supervising, yoga teaching and in my spare time travelling, gardening, and socialising.

Many years ago, I trained as an ASLI mentor and part of my management roles included supervising staff teams. Effective line management in interpreting is much more than a checklist of duties covered and often included reflective discussions around dilemmas, ethics and decision-making. In 2017 I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision at the Iron Mill in Exeter (affiliated with the University of Worcester). This led me towards an even more reflective and integrative model of supervision. I have been offering professional supervision since qualifying and enjoy ‘walking the path’ alongside supervisees. I love the discussions and finding a space that feels safe, open, authentic, and useful.

I believe supervision is crucial to our professional wellbeing and embracing the space to talk about our work keeps us healthy, motivated, and safe to practise. I offer supervision for individuals and groups. Sitting alongside this I am a qualified yoga teacher and am curious about how the interconnectedness of our minds and bodies can influence our work, our reactions, and our non-actions. Nothing about us sits in isolation, I see supervision as the drawstring around our tool bag – holding us together! If you are wanting to contact me, I offer a free 30-minute consultation for us to decide if we can work together.
