Dave Wycherley
I have worked as a freelance interpreter since qualifying from the UCLAN PGDip course in 2004. Shortly after qualifying I was fortunate to be welcomed into a peer group which enabled me to start to reflect on the daily issues and dilemmas of interpreting life. Having attended a workshop on professional supervision I became more interested in how supervision could be used to help to explore these issues and dilemmas in greater depth. This led me to exploring 1:1 professional supervision for myself, and at the same time embarking on the Diploma in Supervision course with 360 Supervision, which I qualified from in June 2022. Supervision offers the chance to set time aside from your busy work schedule, and to take the opportunity to reflect about your practice in a safe, non-judgmental environment. We'll set up a collaborative space where you can explore any issues that you feel are impacting on your professional life and development. As with all the supervisors on the Labyrinth website I have regular 1:1 supervision for myself, and also have supervision to cover my work as a supervisor. I live on the outskirts of Leeds and am happy to offer individual supervision sessions or small group supervision to interpreters and translators. This can either be face to face or online depending on your preference. If this is something that interests you then I am happy to have an initial conversation with you to talk about what I can offer to support you in your practice. |
